Surprise Packages!!

When we got home from a month of travel we had 2 surprise packages with ALL the mail!! The first one I kind of expected. We were visiting my friend, Julie Henning. She is the coordinator for blog reviews for Motherlove Herbal Company and Dandelion Earth-Friendly Goods. Joey (age3) had a big scrape on his forehead and lots of swollen mosquito bites. Julie grabbed her Green Salve and we got him all rubbed down with it. The next morning the scrape was more than 50% healed and the bug bites where shrunk to almost nothing!! Thank you Julie for hooking us up with some fun stuff to review!!

The first package was some Green Salve from Motherlove Herbal Company This all natural versatile salve quickly and effectively takes the itch out of insect bites, bee stings and poison ivy. It soothes and eases the discomforts of rashes, chapped and irritated skin. A must for every home! Motherlove’s green salve has a zero rating (zero toxins) on EWG’s skin deep database and is made with 100% certified organic ingredients.

Green Salve from Motherlove Herbal Company is the most amazing thing for bug bites. We were in Iowa and Wisconsin where the mosquitoes are as big as birds and so are their bites!! My kiddos really swell up and this salve not only took out the sting and itch, it brought down the swelling as well. I highly recommend it. Thank you for the awesome surprise package Motherlove!!!

The second package was from Dandelion Earth-Friendly Goods We received two sets of the organic all natural table wares. The plates and silverware are made from corn. They are perfect size for our little people and a nice bright yellow color. The kids love them. My big complaint on them would be that they are NOT dishwasher or microwave safe. So we are careful about what gets served on them so I don't have to scrub too much!! Thanks Dandelion for the great surprise package!!

Old Maid in My Ear

Last week Alan said he put a popcorn seed in his ear at school. We took him to the pediatrician at the base and they tried to get it out with irrigation. While we were waiting for the referral my friend, Missy (a nurse), took him to her husband's office and tried to irrigate it out again. No luck so we had to wait for a referral to be approved to take him to a pediatric ENT. The closest one is in Pensacola and couldn't get him in until March 17th!! Again I called my friend Missy and asked for her recommendation on ENT doctors in town. She gave me her guy's name and I got on the phone with Tricare. It took lots of call transfers and time, but they could change the referral to Dr. Tran and he could get us in yesterday. Dr. Tran was unable to remove the popcorn seed in his office, but they could get Alan in for surgery first thing this morning to remove the seed. Here is where I learned that anything requiring anesthesia is called surgery. They were going to put Alan out so he...

Santa Claus is Comin' to Town

Well, I'm not sure what made me think I could sew. . . I thought sewing a santa suit wouldn't be too difficult if it was part of a "kit". The base playgroup was doing some Christmas pictures of the kids and I thought I could get the suit done in time to have Daniel take an early lunch and show up as Santa. Well this "kit" had very confusing directions. They may as well have been written in Japanese!!! After spending an entire 3hr naptime studying and attempting to cut out the pieces I was beyond frustrated and ready to cry. I ended up using my resources and sending out a very desperate email to EVERY email address I had for people that lived near me (there are some playgroup lists with emails of people I don't even know). Within 30 minutes a friend, Erin, from my MOPS group responded so I called her and she was able to help me figure out how to cut the pieces out correctly!!! Ok so the pieces are cut out, know what do I do!?! Well. yesterday I r...

Daniel's Surgery

It's 1:30am and been a very long day. Daniel's surgery was pushed back quite a bit today and we are just getting home from the hospital. The doctor gave us some neat pictures and I hope to get them along with all the details added to this post in the very near future. Thanks for all your prayers and please continue to pray for a speedy recovery. WARNING WARNING WARNING the following pictures are not for those of you with weak stomachs!!! Here is his Gall Bladder (everything here is normal) This next picture was explained with some big words. My teaching background kicked in so I rephrased what the doctor was telling me in words I could understand and he said I was understanding correctly. This is Daniel's colon an it should be able to move freely, but there is a spider web kind of forming around it trapping it. The doctor was able to cut it free. Here is Daniel's small intestine. It was getting caught up in the web as well, but the doctor was successful in freein...
