Yesterday we went to the neighborhood elementary school, Tommy Smith Elementary, for preschool orientation. Florida has an amazing pre-K program. The students have to turn 4 before Sept. 1st to qualify so Alan's birthday is just in the nick of time. Their Pre-K program is Monday through Friday (EVERYDAY) and from 7:45am-11am it's FREE then you have the option to pay to keep them at school until they dismiss all the students for the day at 2pm. We are going to pay to keep him there all day for a couple reasons: he needs to be pulled for speech thearapy, the extra time with kids his age will also help speech, and I don't think I can keep up will ALL 3 boys until Daniel gets home from work!!! Here is a picture of his teachers, Mrs. Powell and Mrs. Young. They have 18 students in the Pre-K class. Alan and Eddie had a great time playing while I was filling out the paperwork. The biggest problem I foresee is that we have to walk Alan to the classroom EVERYDAY and it's going to be hard to get Eddie to leave with me!! Keep your fingers crossed as we start this new adventure for Alan on Monday :)
I Got Type 1 Diabetes Monday, January 1, 2018 I went camping at Pupukea for Boy Scout winter camp. I was an SPL (the senior scout boy leader). My chest started to hurt with each move. I went to the nurse and she said it was only heartburn; she advised me to treat a heartburn you want to stay a from meats, eggs, cheese; any free carb foods; and eat foods like a bread, juices, milk; heavy carb foods; [all bad for a diabetic but we didn't know yet.] I went home a day earlier after the final fire bowl. The nurse and other medical professionals, at camp, told me all I needed was a hot shower and good night sleep because I was camping in the rain. When I came home and took a shower I couldn't even stand up. So my mom checked my blood sugar just to rule out that I wouldn't have diabetes. I was around 500. You should be 80-150. So, my mom rushed to Tripler (the big pink hospital) at 1:00 am because the hospital on Hickam is only a clinic for app...
