Stampin' Up Regionals

I was so excited to attend my first Regional seminar for Stampin' Up. Daniel, the boys, and I headed to Atlanta on Thursday, March 8th. The next morning we were up bright and early headed to the seminar downtown. I thought I missed city living being over 40 miles from an interstate, but I was quickly reminded of the horrible parts of city driving. Daniel managed to get me where I needed to be after stopping some ladies on the street that he said sure looked like stampers. Then he took the boys back to the hotel to clean up and check out. They spent the day at the Aquarium downtown and I was in Stampin' Heaven!!! We listened to some great presenters on techniques, business tips, and project ideas. We also swapped cards and of course we STAMPED!!!

Old Maid in My Ear

Last week Alan said he put a popcorn seed in his ear at school. We took him to the pediatrician at the base and they tried to get it out with irrigation. While we were waiting for the referral my friend, Missy (a nurse), took him to her husband's office and tried to irrigate it out again. No luck so we had to wait for a referral to be approved to take him to a pediatric ENT. The closest one is in Pensacola and couldn't get him in until March 17th!! Again I called my friend Missy and asked for her recommendation on ENT doctors in town. She gave me her guy's name and I got on the phone with Tricare. It took lots of call transfers and time, but they could change the referral to Dr. Tran and he could get us in yesterday. Dr. Tran was unable to remove the popcorn seed in his office, but they could get Alan in for surgery first thing this morning to remove the seed. Here is where I learned that anything requiring anesthesia is called surgery. They were going to put Alan out so he...

Not The Best Time To Start Blogging

I Got Type 1 Diabetes         Monday, January 1, 2018   I went camping at Pupukea for Boy Scout winter camp. I was an SPL (the senior scout boy leader). My chest started to hurt with each move. I went to the nurse and she said it was only heartburn; she advised me to treat a heartburn you want to stay a from meats, eggs, cheese; any free carb foods; and eat foods like a bread, juices, milk; heavy carb foods; [all bad for a diabetic but we didn't know yet.] I went home a day earlier after the final fire bowl. The nurse and other medical professionals, at camp, told me all I needed was a hot shower and good night sleep because I was camping in the rain. When I came home and took a shower I couldn't even stand up. So my mom checked my blood sugar just to rule out that I wouldn't have diabetes. I was around 500. You should be 80-150. So, my mom rushed to Tripler (the big pink hospital) at 1:00 am because the hospital on Hickam is only a clinic for app...
