Tucker Visit

We had an amazing weekend with our good friends, the Tuckers. Alan and Madison have really missed each other since the move and he didn't know they were coming until they pulled up in the driveway. I can't believe I didn't have the video camera ready. It was like watching a commercial on TV. Alan opened the door and there was Madison. They both instantly flung open arms, screamed and ran to embrace!!! We spent Friday night catching up and getting ready to hit the beach on Saturday.

The weather was perfect beach weather. Daniel and Nathan managed to push and pull the Radio Flyer wagon through all the sand. Then they got the screened in tent set up to provide shade so the kids wouldn't get fried in the sun. It was successful no one got sunburned unless you count a very small part of my shoulder that must not have gotten covered completely with sunscreen.

Alan and Madison have opposite passions at the beach. Madison could roll around and be covered in the sand. She couldn't get enough of it and Alan was constantly asking me to wipe his hands when they got sandy. Alan LOVED to jump the waves in the water and the waves were kinda scary for Madison. Eddie is happy anywhere. He really enjoyed the sand under the tent. He was trying to bury himself in it and even filled his pockets to bring some home!!

Not The Best Time To Start Blogging

I Got Type 1 Diabetes         Monday, January 1, 2018   I went camping at Pupukea for Boy Scout winter camp. I was an SPL (the senior scout boy leader). My chest started to hurt with each move. I went to the nurse and she said it was only heartburn; she advised me to treat a heartburn you want to stay a from meats, eggs, cheese; any free carb foods; and eat foods like a bread, juices, milk; heavy carb foods; [all bad for a diabetic but we didn't know yet.] I went home a day earlier after the final fire bowl. The nurse and other medical professionals, at camp, told me all I needed was a hot shower and good night sleep because I was camping in the rain. When I came home and took a shower I couldn't even stand up. So my mom checked my blood sugar just to rule out that I wouldn't have diabetes. I was around 500. You should be 80-150. So, my mom rushed to Tripler (the big pink hospital) at 1:00 am because the hospital on Hickam is only a clinic for app...

First Day of School Panic Attack

Okay so most of you know I'm not the emotional mom on the first day of school. Alan started First Grade today and today was DIFFERENT!! I don't know why it was so hard to hold back the tears as the school bus pulled away. I suspect it had something to do with the fact he was riding the bus and I wasn't leaving him in a classroom with a smiling teacher and lots of new friends. Another part of it was knowing he was going to a bare walled classroom with a SUBSTITUTE teacher until they hire a full time teacher for his class. It's a good thing we were early to get to the bus stop. The bus came a full 10 minutes early!! Waiting for the school bus Waiting on the correct side of the street The bus is here!! Joey ran right for the doors trying to get on the bus and was quite upset he didn't get to ride.  He kept saying "I go school, I go school" This is a picture of the school taken from our driveway! A picture of the school close up Our...
Saturday, June 30 th , 2012 Today was the Looney Hooley at Teresa Berg’s.  We didn’t get there at the beginning so we didn’t play in the horse shoe tournament this year.  The boys sent straight to the kiddie pool to play.  It was great seeing all the Looney side of the family.  A group of us played Mexican Dominoes.  It was quite the game as no one seemed to be sure of the rules and we seemed to change them frequently throughout the game J   When the sun started going down someone got the fire going in the fire pit.  The smores supplies appeared and we had a yummy, sticky mess!!  It was a full moon so we decided it was finally dark enough for the fireworks at 10pm.  They were AMAZING and we taught the kids to scream, “Honk Honk” when they really liked them!! I didn't have my camera out, but Alan took some pictures on a hand me down camera he got from Aunt Kathy.
