Hot Tub Installation

Well yesterday proved to be another busy day at the Saucer house. The hot tub was supposed to be delivered on Friday so Amy got on the phone to find out what time to expect them and while she was on hold the door bell rang and the hot tub was here!!!

After dinner Alan and Daniel got busy taking things apart and hooking things up.

They ran into a few hurdles along the way. Try to plug this in.

It was off to Lowes in search of some answers to our newest problem. Then today Daniel ended up switching the outlet on the patio to accomodate this strange plug and we filled the tub with water after dinner. Hopefully the water will prove to be relaxing tomorrow.

Goodness... Goodness... Goodness... When Daniel does projects at my home it normal takes four times the desired planned time. I guess Amy knows how to keep him in line and on time!

Congrads guys, you two desire this. I'm excited that I have a place to soak when I visit. - K

Old Maid in My Ear

Last week Alan said he put a popcorn seed in his ear at school. We took him to the pediatrician at the base and they tried to get it out with irrigation. While we were waiting for the referral my friend, Missy (a nurse), took him to her husband's office and tried to irrigate it out again. No luck so we had to wait for a referral to be approved to take him to a pediatric ENT. The closest one is in Pensacola and couldn't get him in until March 17th!! Again I called my friend Missy and asked for her recommendation on ENT doctors in town. She gave me her guy's name and I got on the phone with Tricare. It took lots of call transfers and time, but they could change the referral to Dr. Tran and he could get us in yesterday. Dr. Tran was unable to remove the popcorn seed in his office, but they could get Alan in for surgery first thing this morning to remove the seed. Here is where I learned that anything requiring anesthesia is called surgery. They were going to put Alan out so he...

Not The Best Time To Start Blogging

I Got Type 1 Diabetes         Monday, January 1, 2018   I went camping at Pupukea for Boy Scout winter camp. I was an SPL (the senior scout boy leader). My chest started to hurt with each move. I went to the nurse and she said it was only heartburn; she advised me to treat a heartburn you want to stay a from meats, eggs, cheese; any free carb foods; and eat foods like a bread, juices, milk; heavy carb foods; [all bad for a diabetic but we didn't know yet.] I went home a day earlier after the final fire bowl. The nurse and other medical professionals, at camp, told me all I needed was a hot shower and good night sleep because I was camping in the rain. When I came home and took a shower I couldn't even stand up. So my mom checked my blood sugar just to rule out that I wouldn't have diabetes. I was around 500. You should be 80-150. So, my mom rushed to Tripler (the big pink hospital) at 1:00 am because the hospital on Hickam is only a clinic for app...
