Pictures at Sears

I took the boys to Sears for pictures of them before the baby comes and also to get Eddie's 2yr pictures taken. You can view our session online at www.searsportrait.com. I'll have to wait until our session is up to get you the rest of the info you will need so stayed tuned in the next couple days. Here are some of my favorites from today.

6-8 more weeks

I had my OB check up today and everything looks AOK. There are 3 docotors that I see at this practice and the doctor today isn't very concerned about the size of the baby at all so we will wait until 36 weeks which is a Sunday July 29th so we won't really decide anything until July 30th. My next appointment is July 3rd and I'll see doctor #3 so we'll see what his take is on things.

3AM Phone Call

I think all my wishful thinking about having this baby NOW has gone too far. The phone rang at 3am and it was the hospital calling to be sure I was coming in for my 4am appointment to be induced!! I said that I wasn't informed of this appointment and there had to be a mistake as I wasn't due until Aug. and not even 30 weeks along. She looked and said my paper work said I was scheduled to come in at 4am and that I am due June 17th. I asked her to look again and she got very confused when she looked at my complete records and apologized a bunch. I think the doc may have put in the computer that we would schedule an apointment to induce at my next office visit on the 17th of June. Didn't think of that until I was waking up in the shower this morning though so I bet the lady that called last night is still confused :)

My First YouTube Video

I just learned about Microsoft Movie Maker and put together my first movie. I used pictures from our family trip to Las Vegas last fall. It's my first attempt at using YouTube. Let me know what you think.

50 New Pictures

I received a wonderful disc of pictures from Nikky today. They are pictures from Daniel and Eddie's trip to Texas in March. I added 50 of my favorites to the New Family Website linked to the left. Feel free to leave comments we LOVE to hear from you :) Amy

28 Weeks 4 Days

We had an ultrasound on Thursday to check the size of the baby. I was hoping to include pics or video, but have encountered some problems with that. On Thursday we were 28 weeks and 4 days along and the overall measurements of the baby were right around 31 weeks. This is pretty normal for a diabetic to be about 2 weeks bigger. The baby is in breech position right now, but still has plenty of time and a little space to turn. Please pray that it turns soon as right now it's laying on my oxygen supply which explains why I feel like it's major work to breathe at times. The baby weighed 3lbs and 3 oz on Thursday. The doctor's big concern right now (I must admit it has me a bit nervouse as well) is the size of the baby's head. The baby's head is measuring at 33+ weeks and won't be getting any smaller. I have a OB appointment on the 18th of June and we will be discussing the official game plan and time line of events as it sounds like they don't want me to...

Visitors

Last weekend we were very lucky to have some special visitors. Joan and René, our friends from the Knights of Columbus in Colorado, were passing through on a road trip. They had their daughter, Kistella and her 4 boys with them. Alan and Eddie had a blast playing with the boys. Here are some pictures and video clips from the weekend. Here is a shot of Daniel, Amy, Joan, and René Here are all the kids Here is the picnic they had And here is the Band video of the band

NEW Saucer Family Website

I'm proud to announce a NEW link on the Saucer Family Website. Thanks to Tim Saucer and April Zeoli for the help in saving me TONS of time. The Picasa Pic link on our website or the NEW Saucer Family Website link on this blog will take you to the most recent pictures of our family. This site allows 1G of FREE space and the Angelfire site only allows 10MB so with this new site I don't have to spend hours shrinking pictures down and it uploads so much faster!!! You can also order prints of any of the pictures you want. If you have trouble with this feature call me and we can walk through it on the phone. Please give me your feedback on the new format.

Directions

Alan is big into reading the directions on things these days. His favorites are happy meal toys and microwave popcorn. Here is a video clip of him with the popcorn this afternoon.

Fun Food With Eddie

Today we got a package from Grandma and inside was dried papaya. Eddie LOVED the strips of dried fruit, but they were tougher than beef jerky for his little teeth. It sure didn't slow him down, only made them more fun to eat. Here is a short video so you can see what I mean.

Holiday Weekend and the ER

This holiday weekend was originally an no plans, just chill, and get some things done around the house weekend. Well on Tuesday Eddie got sick and threw up all day, then on Thursday Alan took his turn and on Friday it was my turn. Needless to say those of you who know my medical history, my body doesn't react to this well so by 9:30pm Friday night we realized I lost 4 lbs in 2 days and the nurse sent us to the ER. The ER on a holiday weekend is very interesting. We had to wait forever to be seen by the doctor who determined I needed IV fluids to rehydrate as well as some wonderful anti-nausea drugs. Labwork also showed a bladder infection so we got some good antibiotics to boot. The boys were way over tired so after they got me in the back Daniel took them home and waited for me to call for a ride. When the first bag of fluids was finished I buzzed the nurse to come change the bag. Well I didn't hear back for awhile, but did hear some severe screaming and swearing follo...

Cursed

So I must be cursed!!! The boys and I went to Pensacola on Wed afternoon to stay for a long weekend. We got there and their air conditioning went out. Thankfully it rained and cooled off so ceiling fans were enough to get through the night and the repair man was scheduled for Thursday. I headed to the big scrapbooking crop Thursday morning and their air conditioning was out. The repairman never made it there, but one of the Scrappy Sisters is married to an air conditioner repairman so he we were in good shape by the evening. Now this afternoon at home our air conditioner is out. So it's 8:30pm and 85 degrees in our house. We have the windows open and ceiling fans running full speed, but can't seem to locate a repairman to get here and fix it. This really sucks for a northern gal stuck in the south. It sucks even more if that northern gal is 26 weeks pregnant!!! Please pray for cool weather and for us to find someone to fix it fast.

It's A Boy!!!

Nope, not ours, but we got a new nephew early this morning. Ian Jeffrey Saucer-Zeoli was born to the proud parents Tim Saucer and April Zeoli at 2:35Am on May 15th. He weighed in at 8lbs 1oz and was 20 inches long. Sounds like they are all doing fine after some complications during delivery. So the Saucer side now has 3 grandsons with names in order of vowels. Alan, Eddie, and Ian. Welcome to the family Ian!!!

Friday Night Freak Out

Let's start this off with letting you know that everything in the end turns out all right. Daniel left on Friday morning for a TDY that requires him to be out of town for a full week. Friday evening around 6:30pm I started feeling what I thought were Braxton Hicks contractions. They weren't going away and there didn't seem to be any space between them and I was feeling incredible pressure and abdominal pain. After about an hour of this I called the OB on call nurse who told me it was just indigestion. Well 10min after that phone call I was having trouble breathing and Alan was getting concerned so I called one of Daniel's co-workers that lives down the street to come watch the boys. When he got here and saw me he also offered to drive me to the hospital. I did NOT turn him down. We loaded up the boys and off to Labor and Delivery we went. (Dave had just been there 2 weeks earlier welcoming his daughter into the world a month early). I got checked in and spent ...

Week #22

Here is a belly picture at 22weeks. It was taken last weekend right before we went for our level 2 ultra sound. We had to travel to Pensacola to have it done and were able to see the sections of the baby's brain, the chambers of the heart, direction of blood flow through the heart, straight spine and many other detailed organ shots. Unfortunately I am having trouble scanning the ultra sound pictures so you will have to settle of this picture of me not looking so hot, but it will give you an idea.

Middle Wife

Below is an email I received. I don't normally like getting forwards, but I could just see Alan doing this if he was a bit older. The "Middle Wife" by an Anonymous 2nd grade teacher I've been teaching now for about fifteen years. I have two kids myself, but the best birth story I know is the one I saw in my own second-grade classroom a few years back. When I was a kid, I loved show-and-tell. So I always have a few sessions with my students. It helps them get over shyness and usually, show-and-tell is pretty tame. Kids bring in pet turtles, model airplanes, pictures of fish they catch, stuff like that. And I never, ever place any boundaries or limitations on them. If they want to lug it in to school and talk about it, they're welcome. Well, one day this little girl, Erica, a very bright, very outgoing kid, takes her turn and waddles up to the front of the class with a pillow stuffed under her sweater. She ho...

19 Weeks

Just a side note before you read the internet version of what's happening with the baby. Because of the dibetes the doctors won't let me go past 38 weeks so we ARE half way there!!! Hello, Amy! Your baby weighs about 8 1/2 ounces, and he measures 6 inches, head to bottom — about the length of a small zucchini. His arms and legs are in the right proportions to each other and the rest of his body now. His kidneys continue to make urine, and the hair on his scalp is sprouting. If your baby is a girl, she has an astonishing six million eggs in her ovaries. This is a crucial time for sensory development: Your baby's brain is designating specialized areas for smell, taste, hearing, vision, and touch. While you may think your womb is a quiet place, it's far from it and your baby may be able to hear what's going on now. What's he listening to? The main sounds are blood moving through your vessels, digestive noises from your stomach, and your voice. Some women like to t...

Good News Day

Today has already had some really good news for us. I had my diabetes check up this morning and my A1C (this shows your control) was 6.5!!! Anything less than a 7 means no additional risks during pregnancy. Then I had good mail. They accepted some credits that I wasn't sure they would accept and my Iowa teaching license was renewed!!! Now if I can just get 6 college credits by Aug. 2008 to keep my Colorado license current. Daniel and Eddie get home from their trip to Texas tonight!!! Sorry no pics. Hope you all have a GREAT week!! Amy
