13 Weeks

Well we are into wekk 13 of the prgnancy and still feeling pretty crappy. Sorry I haven't posted more for you frequent readers. We had an appointment earlier this week to hear the baby's heartbeat and it was quite the stressful experience. It took the nurse FOREVER and she still couldn't find it so after 20min she had the doctor try and he couldn't find it either so 10min later he had her firing up the OLD ultrasound machine so we could check things out. I won't ever turn down the opportunty to SEE the baby so here is a fuzzy picf what we saw and the heart rate was in the 150's so everything is AOK.

Here is what the internet has to say about week 13.

"Your belly may soon be big enough to announce to the world that you're expecting, but your baby is still tiny. In fact, he's only about 3 inches long, crown to rump — roughly the size of a jumbo shrimp — and weighs just about an ounce. Despite being so small, there's a fully formed baby inside your womb now who's much more proportional than he was a few weeks ago. In previous weeks, your baby's head dwarfed the rest of him — but now his head is only about a third the size of his body. His tiny, unique fingerprints are already in place. His kidneys and urinary tract are functional, and he's starting to urinate out the amniotic fluid he's been swallowing. As you start your second trimester, most of your baby's critical development will be completed, and your odds of miscarriage drop considerably."

First Day of School Panic Attack

Okay so most of you know I'm not the emotional mom on the first day of school. Alan started First Grade today and today was DIFFERENT!! I don't know why it was so hard to hold back the tears as the school bus pulled away. I suspect it had something to do with the fact he was riding the bus and I wasn't leaving him in a classroom with a smiling teacher and lots of new friends. Another part of it was knowing he was going to a bare walled classroom with a SUBSTITUTE teacher until they hire a full time teacher for his class. It's a good thing we were early to get to the bus stop. The bus came a full 10 minutes early!! Waiting for the school bus Waiting on the correct side of the street The bus is here!! Joey ran right for the doors trying to get on the bus and was quite upset he didn't get to ride.  He kept saying "I go school, I go school" This is a picture of the school taken from our driveway! Dreaming of a White Christmas

While a "White" Christmas is something many dream of, I'm pretty confident in saying I dream and pray that this will be my LAST white Christmas!! It's funny how the only things about snow that "stick" in your memory are the snowball fights, snowman building, sledding and FUN!!! Daniel and I decided the boys would really enjoy seeing snow for the first time this year. So we packed up our mini van turned into a sleigh and then hit the highway our destination was 2 days away. Over the highways and byways we glide to grandmother's house we drive. With turn right or turn left we trust GPS to get us there alive. It turns out we have very bad trip coordination with mother nature. She seemed to think this weekend was the perfect time for a blizzard/white out to visit the mid-west. This didn't quite sync with our driving plans. The further north we drove the talk of snow increased until it was finally falling and hitting our windshield. I warned them o...
