Puppy

Our newest neighbors have 3 little dogs. They are just the right size for our little boys to LOVE!!! They also have a very tricky back door. Yesterday David managed to lock himself out while letting the dogs out. He came over to borrow our phone and phone book to call Lisa's work and get her cell number. He then found an open bathroom window and crawled through to get in.

This morning I was loading the van to go to MOPS and there was Lisa with all the dogs. She had done the same thing only on her way to work. What an awful way to start your day. Her work happened to be close to the MOPS location so I offered her a ride. They don't have a fence so there was no where to put the dogs who were still getting used to the new neighborhood. Problem solved our yard is fenced in. So we put the dogs in the yard, buckeled up the boys and headed out for the day. When I got home for lunch 2 of her dogs were in her driveway. This was confusing as I just talked to her on the cell and she hadn't been home yet. I rounded them up and got them back in the yard only to find a few minutes later they had escaped again. I caught one and the other, Roscoe, was ticked from the last capture and wouldn't be found. Well I enlisted the help of our only other neighbor with no luck. I called Lisa and she was devastated. I told her we would keep looking. So I took the boys in and got them lunch. Went outside to call Roscoe and he and the other escape artist, Phoebe, were lounging on their front stoop so I picked them up and they are now lounging in our laundry room. I called Lisa back and she was very relieved to hear Roscoe had been found. All I have to say is that dogs can be as much trouble as kids sometime. I'm glad this happened because I really love dogs, but I don't want to own one anytime soon. This story will hopefully come in handy when Daniel starts bugging me to get one :)

First Day of School Panic Attack

Okay so most of you know I'm not the emotional mom on the first day of school. Alan started First Grade today and today was DIFFERENT!! I don't know why it was so hard to hold back the tears as the school bus pulled away. I suspect it had something to do with the fact he was riding the bus and I wasn't leaving him in a classroom with a smiling teacher and lots of new friends. Another part of it was knowing he was going to a bare walled classroom with a SUBSTITUTE teacher until they hire a full time teacher for his class. It's a good thing we were early to get to the bus stop. The bus came a full 10 minutes early!! Waiting for the school bus Waiting on the correct side of the street The bus is here!! Joey ran right for the doors trying to get on the bus and was quite upset he didn't get to ride.  He kept saying "I go school, I go school" This is a picture of the school taken from our driveway! Dreaming of a White Christmas

While a "White" Christmas is something many dream of, I'm pretty confident in saying I dream and pray that this will be my LAST white Christmas!! It's funny how the only things about snow that "stick" in your memory are the snowball fights, snowman building, sledding and FUN!!! Daniel and I decided the boys would really enjoy seeing snow for the first time this year. So we packed up our mini van turned into a sleigh and then hit the highway our destination was 2 days away. Over the highways and byways we glide to grandmother's house we drive. With turn right or turn left we trust GPS to get us there alive. It turns out we have very bad trip coordination with mother nature. She seemed to think this weekend was the perfect time for a blizzard/white out to visit the mid-west. This didn't quite sync with our driving plans. The further north we drove the talk of snow increased until it was finally falling and hitting our windshield. I warned them o...
